Summer Camp Counselor Join our team as a Summer Camp Counselor at John Newcombe Country Club in New Braunfels, Texas! Pay Rate: 12.50/hr Position Summary: Responsible for supervising campers and assisting in recreational activities. Essential Duties: - Assisting recreational activities for children - Lead small or large groups on crafts, games and various other camp exercises - Monitor campers to identify and respond to unruly behavior or deviations from camp guidelines - Follow policies for the safety of campers, equipment, and personal property - Act as a role model for campers in activities which require cleanliness, punctuality, and sportsmanship - Mediate disputes or conflicts between campers to ensure a peaceful environment - Participate in singing, storytelling, and sporting activities Education and Training: - Previous experience working with children preferred - Knowledge of sports, arts, or crafts is also necessary for the position - Leadership Skill: Camp counselors are able to direct and coordinate children during summer camp trip Physical Demands: - Frequently stands and uses hands; reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears - Regularly walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches - Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds Environment/Noise: Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
